General Air Products was contracted to build a fluid pumping station for a customer using deionized water or DI water for cooling the heat given off by electrical components in their testing process. The customer, a testing center for various types of equipment, required deionized water because water with standard amounts of iron could interfere with the electrical components that performed the tests. The DI water needed to be pumped through the testing equipment by way of a water cooled heat sinks. The unit we designed and built for this application is a standard 10 HP simplex pumping station incorporating our basic control panel. Standard but for one simple but important change. Instead of our standard piping we used PVC piping in order to satisfy the DI water requirement. A simple solution to meet a custom requirement. Remember, custom does not mean costly!
