The Fire Protection Roadshow rolls on to its latest stop in the Great White North with our visit to Toronto this May. The roadshow is an NICET certified and accredited course where we team up with industry partners to bring professionals up-to-date training and product information. Our stop in Toronto was our first international visit of the tour and attracted industry professionals from across the US and Canada.
To start off the day, Jim McHugh of AGF Manufacturing took the stage to discuss the most recent NFPA code updates and changes for air vents, as well as other protection and maintenance installations. He also detailed how AGF products, such as the Flood Eliminator, can protect fire safety systems from damage.
Up next was Dominic Colletti from Blazemaster, who addressed the key question: should CPVC be used in light hazard occupancies like schools, hospitals, and offices? He explained how CPVC offers significant advantages in design, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance, ensuring the best sprinkler system life cycle value.
After lunch, General Air Products President Ray Fremont Jr. discussed corrosion prevention methods for fire safety systems. Most of the focus was on the applications of the Vapor Pipe Shield System. Additionally, there was a discussion on General Air’s new Advance Series Compressors, featuring a patented Digital Pressure Switch, which can aid in corrosion prevention and simplify maintenance.
