This September, the Fire Protection Roadshow headed out west for a day of training, seminars, and networking in Salt Lake City, Utah.
President of AGF Manufacturing, Jim McHugh, started the day off with a session on Air Venting & NFPA 13 Code Requirements, Freeze Protection, and Corrosion Detection. Participants left his presentation having learned where air vents are required, how and why they are necessary, as well as how to prevent freeze up in fire sprinkler systems.
McHugh’s training was followed up by an hour spent covering all things Listed Antifreeze when it comes to residential sprinklers, courtesy of Viking Group’s Darren Palmieri. Palmieri made sure to cover all the latest products and trends in residential sprinkler systems.
The final session of the day saw General Air Products President Ray Fremont, Jr. provide guidance on the Vapor Pipe Shield, a new corrosion prevention technology for dry and pre-action fire sprinkler systems. Fremont covered the fundamentals of how Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor technology works and its efficacy and safety in fire protection systems.Packed with Salt Lake City-based industry professionals, the day of training was a real success — we’re looking forward to more West Coast training events to come!
